(Newswire.net — December 6, 2021) Orlando, FL — Various studies have long shown that mental health is vital for the overall functioning and even in maintaining overall well-being. Researchers say it is also important for those who are recovering from a heart attack.

This is according to a study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s 70th Annual Scientific Session.

In this research, it has been found that mental health may play a huge role in recovery following a heart attack. It involved young and middle-aged adults who reported severe psychological distress, such as depression or anxiety, after suffering a heart attack.

Researchers found they were more than twice as likely to experience a second cardiac event within five years compared with those experiencing only mild distress.

It was the first to comprehensively evaluate the manner mental health influences the outlook for younger heart attack survivors. In this study, the investigators also tracked inflammatory markers that seem to have a role in enhancing cardiovascular risk among people experiencing distress.

“Our findings suggest that cardiologists should consider the value of regular psychological assessments, especially among younger patients,” said Mariana Garcia, MD.

Garcia is a cardiology fellow at Emory University in Atlanta and the study’s lead author.

“Equally importantly, they should explore treatment modalities for ameliorating psychological distress in young patients after a heart attack, such as meditation, relaxation techniques, and holistic approaches, in addition to traditional medical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation,” she added.

The researchers looked into the health outcomes of 283 heart attack survivors between the ages of 18 and 61, with an average age of 51 years.

In this research, the participants were made to complete a series of validated questionnaires that measured depression, anxiety, anger, perceived stress, and posttraumatic stress disorder within six months of their heart attack.

Through the use of the questionnaires, the investigators were able to establish a composite score of psychological distress for every participant. They also grouped patients based on experiences of mild, moderate, and high distress.

Today studies investigating the remedies beneficial for mental health pile up. There are some remedies like the use of B vitamins scientists found to be particularly helpful.

Over the years, the use of B vitamins has been a popular subject of research. Studies have particularly shown these nutrients promote brain and mental health. What makes them more beneficial is that they may also enhance heart health.

To benefit from their use, it is wise to take into account formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex.

It contains Choline, Pantothenic acid, Biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin, Thiamin, and vitamin B6 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
