Scientists Warn PCOS Increases Pregnancy Complications

(Newswire.net — October 20, 2022) Orlando, FL — Over the years, scientists have been investigating hormonal health issues like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It is important to keep in mind that this condition may be preventable through dietary and lifestyle modifications.

Scientists now warn PCOS increased complications in pregnancy. They have particularly revealed that women with this hormonal issue are actually more likely to have issues with pregnancy regardless of whether they are under fertility treatment.

The findings of this study were published in the British Medical Journal.

The Swedish researchers recommend better monitoring of women with polycystic ovary syndrome during pregnancy and childbirth. This is due to the fact that they are more prone to premature birth, diabetes, and pre-eclampsia.

Health authorities warn that this common disorder affects between 5 percent and 15 percent of women of reproductive age.

Women with this condition usually have small cysts around the edge of their ovaries. When it develops, it leads to symptoms like problems with ovulation, weight gain, irregular periods, and excessive hair growth.

This study was carried out by researchers from the Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.

They set out to look into the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with PCOS, taking into account maternal characteristics and fertility treatment.

The investigators looked into nationwide data on 3,787 births among women with PCOS and 1,191,336 births among women without the condition.

“These women may need increased surveillance during pregnancy and childbirth. Future research would benefit from focusing on glucose control, medical treatment, and hormonal status among women with polycystic ovary syndrome during pregnancy.”

Studies highlighting the various aspects of the condition continue to increase. It is worth noting that aside from pharmaceutical drugs, there are widely-studied treatment options available.

Researchers had long been investigating the remedies potentially helpful in fighting PCOS, in addition to the use of certain pharmaceutical drugs. These include the use of an all-natural compound called Diindolylmethane (DIM).

Results from previous studies have highlighted that intake of DIM helped normalize hormone levels. It has even been found to have both estrogenic and anti-androgenic activity.

It is wise to choose formulas like Purest Vantage DIM, which has 250mg Diindolylmethane Plus BioPerine and Dong Quai, to benefit from its healing goodness. This formula is thought to be superior to other brands and is protected with a money-back guarantee.

Purest Vantage DIM continues to receive more and more positive reviews from consumers today (http://www.amazon.com/DIM-Diindolylmethane-250mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B072C46H29).
