Mondavi , having elevated to the top ranks of wine making also teamed up with Chateau Mouton Rothchild to produce Opus One, one of the premier wine labels in the world. This Bordeau/ American partnership established a respect for regionalization of wines in the world.
Washington State and Oregon were also hidden gems that were also discovered to have excellent soil with nutrients to feed that soil and ideal sun and rainfall. This region has even been compared to the same qualities as Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Mendocino, and San Obispo where they produce excellent cabernets, merlots, and zinfandels.
