Music Lover’s Blog recently published an article that investigates the musical roots of two musicians with seemingly disparate careers. Working class Blaine, Tucker a free spirit, the two musicians appear different on the surface, but Music Lover’s Blog manages to find the similarities in their roots.

“When I think ‘Blaine Tucker’ I don’t immediately see the connection,” says John Woodward of Music Lover’s Blog, “But I can sense there’s an underlying similarity between the two, that’s why I chose to write this piece, to look for the connection.”

According to the recently published Music Lover’s Blog article, Blaine Long is a grounded musician searching for a sound that is organic and authentic. He supported himself through odd jobs for 15 years while he worked on his songwriting skills. The article states that S.J. Tucker’s work is more fanciful and upbeat. Together the two musicians share the common thread of independent, creative spirits, turning to music as an outlet for to express their experience of life.

“The commonalities became clear to me as I started listening more closely to the work of each artist,” says John Woodward, an editor of Music Lover’s Blog. “Once I started looking, I saw that the clues were there the whole time that both of these musicians are really coming from the same place. The earnest quest for clear expression is there with Blaine, Tucker has the searching sound of a free spirit. The expression is a little different between the two of them, but in the end they are both singing the same song.”

Editors of the site say that Music Lover’s Blog is always looking for interesting opportunities to look at deeper at the musicians behind their favorite music. The recent article is an example of how keeping an open mind towards music can lead to insights and connections that weren’t obvious at first.

“We’re ready to write more stories like this,” says John Woodward. “Writing about Blaine Tucker was a challenge, but in the end, those kind of challenges are the most rewarding.”
