(Newswire.net — November 12, 2014) TollesonAZ — As a way to help the local teens of Southwest Valley, OCM Recycle West is partnering with Arizona Call-A-Teen Youth Resources (ACYR) for an upcoming community event. They will be hosting a ‘Food Drive’ and a computer equipment sale to raise the much needed resources for disenfranchised Arizona teenagers this holiday season.

What’s more, for those participants generous enough to support the good cause, are eligible to win a laptop computer loaded with software valued at $250.00! People can simply bring in $10 worth of non-perishable foods, or a $10 gift card that will benefit the ACYR youth group.   In exchange for the donation, each person will receive raffle tickets which enters them into the raffle giveaway for the computer prizes.

Local Food Drive To Help Teens

According to OCM Recycle West, the Food Drive/Computer Sale is set to happen on the 15th of November 2014, from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm MTZ, at their headquarters, located at 10297 West Van Buren #16 Tolleson, AZ 85353. The date was chosen in time for Thanksgiving, so the youths can better enjoy the holiday celebration.

Ms Patty Hannon, recently elected Chamber of Commerce Secretary and co-owner of OCM Recycle West, shares that “We are always looking to find ways to support the West Valley, especially the youth. This is your chance to support a great organization ACYR, and win a laptop computer.”

The organization also adds that the public is very welcome to join the much anticipated Food Drive/Computer Sale, wherein free food snacks and drinks will be served. Aside from that, attendees can expect lively musical entertainment that both organizations have prepared.

Driven by their dedication to help the youth, OCM Recycle West doesn’t just stop at implementing the Food Drive. They will feature a holiday gift-buying sale offering laptops, desktops, LCD computer monitors, and computer software at discounted prices, ranging from as little as $75 to $300.00! A portion of all proceeds will benefit the ACYR organization and its teens.

Locally owned and operated by Patty Hannon and Kate Hopeman, OCM Recycle West recycles electronic computers, monitors and telephone systems Valley-wide. Their goal is to help companies dispose of their existing computer equipment in a responsible, safe, and eco-friendly fashion, while giving back and supporting local communities.  They are a proud recipient of the Small Business Award of the Year from the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce.  In addition to being an active member of the Chamber, they are members of the Arizona Recycling Coalition.

Arizona Call-A-Teen Youth Resources

Arizona Call-A-Teen has equipped young people with academic, vocational, and social skills for over 40 years. They offer youth numerous opportunities to claim individual potential, secure economic future and transition into the roles required of responsible adulthood.

ACYR is recognized locally and nationally for providing programs of high quality and accountability. These are specifically designed to address the education and workforce development needs of young people who have dropped out of school.

Those who have undergone life circumstances which made them at risk of not completing high school are also helped by ACYR. Over 91% of program participants either remain in school, complete high school or its equivalent, or enter post secondary education and employment.

The Food Drive Partnership

Ms Sharlet Barnett, CEO of Arizona Call-A-Teen Youth Resources, states “This is a tough time of the year for our youth especially due to the food bank supplies being so low. The support from our community is very important and we are proud to be partnering with OCM Recycle West.”

With OCM Recycle West and ACYR becoming bigger, it’s no surprise that both organizations continue their efforts in helping Valley residents. Lending a hand in the upcoming Food Drive is a perfect way to make that valuable connection with the community this holiday season.
