(Newswire.net — December 1, 2017) Orlando, FL — Inflammation has been widely thought to cause the development of various health conditions. There are natural alternatives that may have the potential to help fight inflammation-related conditions, such as antioxidants.

Resveratrol is believed to aid inflammatory bowel disease symptoms. This potent antioxidant can be found in grapes, and has long been believed to offer a range of health benefits. It has the potential ability to fight symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, which include diarrhea, intestinal inflammation and rectal bleeding.

In a new study, it was found that resveratrol produced an increased survival rate in mice. Resveratrol is also called a phytonutrient, and it contains a variety of complex agents. Some of these agents are considered to offer antitumor, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting properties.

In previous studies, it was found that resveratrol improved brain function as well as resistance to stroke. It also has the potential to help with weight loss, protection against diabetes and may inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells.

The potential anti-inflammatory abilities of resveratrol have been studied for their possible ability to reduce or eliminate the risk of inflammatory bowel disease. The two most common types of IBD are ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

The European Journal of Pharmacology features a study that involved a group of mice dosed with 20 mg of resveratrol. There was also a placebo group in the study, which lasted for 30 days.

After 30 days, the researchers used a substance which caused inflammation in the intestinal walls to induce colitis in mice. It was found that the group dosed with resveratrol experienced less severe and less frequent symptoms than the control group.

More specifically, mice dosed with resveratrol were found to have less severe weight loss as well as dehydrating diarrhea. They also had less rectal bleeding than the control group. What makes the findings of the study even more surprising is that 40% of the control group of mice died and all of the resveratrol-dosed group survived.

Researchers suggest that resveratrol seemed to aid in the recovery of colitis, which the resveratrol-dosed group experienced better than their untreated counterparts. They further suggest that this natural alternative may be useful to reduce the risk of these inflammatory conditions.

According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, 1 million individuals in the United States are suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Resveratrol may be an excellent addition to one’s diet. In addition to its possible inflammation-fighting abilities, it also contains properties that are believed to be extremely beneficial for overall well-being.

One of the most notable resveratrol supplement choices comes from Divine Bounty. This product contains a combination of grape seed, green tea, red wine and acai berry extracts.
