(Newswire.net — November 20, 2019) — This story will delight DC comic book fans – and confuse everyone else: Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot and Ray Fisher joined fans who demand Warner Bros. release Snyder’s cut of Justice League.
It all has to do with the alleged first installment of the Justice League movie which earned bad reviews after its premiere in 2017. But now the film’s three biggest stars have joined the fan outcry, demanding the release of the first version of the movie. The mystery of the existence of the first version would thus come to light.
The Justice League was supposed to be DC’s “response” to Marvel’s Avengers – a chance for some of the franchise’s biggest names to come together in the same movie. However, the League was facing big problems. The original director, Zack Snyder, experienced a family tragedy and had to take a leave from the film during post-production. The director’s chair was taken over by Joss Whedon, the director of the first two Avengers movies.
When the movie was released, it barely had any success. On the Rotten Tomatoes website the movie had a score of 40 percent. Fans were also unhappy – nearly 180,000 of them signed a petition demanding that the Warner Bros. studio release a version of the movie taken before Whedon put his hands on it.
Screen Geek reports about a recent Reddit Q & A, a VFX Artist from Justice League (verified by Reddit), revealed that Snyder’s cut doesn’t exist, saying:
“… There is no Snyder cut – obviously he had a rough edit in process when he left in February, but the reshoots were done 6 months after that, and he had no final version of the film”
“Sure, Zack would’ve probably done things differently to how the movie turned out, but that’s it. There isn’t a secret Zack version hidden somewhere. It just doesn’t exist. There is no cut. People who spread the rumor are the worst, perpetuating rumors of processes they don’t understand,” the VFX artist wrote.
The comment, however, is no longer available on Reddit.
