(Newswire.net — November 3, 2019) — Russian Foreign Minister said al-Baghdadi was product of the US, and that there are no actual evidence al-Baghdadi is dead. Ruptly reports.
“The leader of the Islamic State of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was a product of the US, and its elimination has not yet been confirmed,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has already commented on Baghdad.
“We would like to receive further information. Everything was published in a celebratory and jubilant style, but for now our soldiers are analyzing additional facts – much that the US has yet to confirm,” Lavrov said in an interview with Russia 24 television channel.
The minister added that “the elimination the terrorist, if indeed it was – since Baghdad has been pronounced dead many times – is probably a positive step, given its detrimental role in the formation of the Islamic State and in the attempt to create a caliphate.”
At the same time, Lavrov recalled that Baghdadi was a product of the United States of America.
Lavrov said that the IS as such emerged after the illegal US entry into Iraq, the destruction of the Iraqi state and the release of extremists from prison. These were the extremists that were held there by the Americans and then released.
“That’s why, to a certain extent, Americans have eliminated the one they made themselves, if that really happened,” Lavrov said.
The head of Russian diplomacy also warned that the US is backing loyal forces in Syria for oil.
“Oil again” said Russian Foreign Minister adding on the facts about Americans leaving troops only to protect oil sights in Sirya. He commented on Pentagon Chief Mark Esper’s statement that the US would protect oil sources in Syria and would forcefully respond to attempts to conquer them. The US President Donald Trump also explained in a tweet what it is all about:
“Oil is secured,” Trump tweeted Friday. “Our soldiers have left and are leaving Syria for other places, then…. COMING HOME! … When these pundit fools who have called the Middle East wrong for 20 years ask what we are getting out of the deal, I simply say, THE OIL, AND WE ARE BRINGING OUR SOLDIERS BACK HOME, ISIS SECURED!” the US president tweeted.
Oil is exported for refinement outside Syria, and for the sake of revenue that comes from that oil, the US supports armed formations that are loyal to them, Lavrov added.
Russian President’s Special Envoy on Syria Alexander Lavrentiev has stated earlier that oil fields in northeast Syria should be controlled by the Syrian government.
Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov previously said that US government agencies receive more than $30 million in revenue each month from Syria’s oil exploitation.
He said that the US smuggles oil out of Syria – not only in violation of international law but, ironically, also in breach of its own unilateral sanctions against the war-ravaged state.
