However, do you know that there are little tricks you can use to improve your already great experience using Apple’s smartphone? Here are five iPhone hacks you need to know to change your user experience.
1. Charge Your Battery Faster
The most recent generations of iPhone, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, are known for charging faster than previous versions of the iPhone. However, they still take between two to three hours to fully charge. If you are in more of a rush for your device to charge, there is a hack you can use that can speed up the process. Turn off Wi-Fi (or data) for faster charging. You can also take it up another notch by turning on Airplane Mode, which will charge your iPhone even faster.
2. Do a Quick Search in Settings
Looking for a specific thing in the “Settings” app? If you are new to the device or simply can’t recall where under “Settings” a feature is located, it’s easy to search for and quickly access it. Go into “Settings” and swipe the screen down ever so slightly. A search bar will appear at the top of the page. From there, you can type in the feature you want to access and you will swiftly be taken to it.
3. Check Timestamp on Text Messages
If you didn’t see received text messages in real-time when they originally came to you, there’s an easy hack for that. Go to the text message in question and just swipe to the left while pressing on it. You will see the time appear to the right of the message. You can do this for both regular text messages and iMessages.
4. Erase a Text or Email You’re Composing
Sometimes, you are in the middle of composing a text message or email to someone and you rethink what you’ve typed and want to start over again. Or perhaps you want to completely scrap the idea of sending the text or email altogether. There’s a hack for that as well, and it’s extremely simple. In fact, you may have accidentally stumbled across it once, twice or even multiple times. Shake your iPhone and a prompt will appear that reads “Undo Typing” with two choices directly under it, “Cancel” and “Undo.” If you want to erase what you’ve typed thus far, select “Undo.” If you accidently stumbled upon this feature, you would most likely want to hit “Cancel.”
5. Switch Keyboards in a Snap
Ever since the release of iOS 9, the iPhone has been capable of supporting swipe type keyboards. If you have jumped onboard by using one of those keyboards, you’re not alone. The ability to switch from the default iOS keyboard to the emoji keyboard is simple. Go into your text messages or another app where a keyboard appears. Press on the globe icon so that the names of the other keyboard appear. Press on the keyboard you want to use and your iPhone will switch to it.
