(Newswire.net — March 21, 2022) — Whether you’re a fan of the sport, architecture, or even art, we can all appreciate the beauty of a well-constructed stadium. Join us as we count down five of the most beautiful stadiums the world of sport has to offer. These stadiums are up to the Kendrick Lamar To Pimp A Butterfly standard. Not the pointless gorl meme.

5. Central Coast Stadium – Gosford, Australia

Central Coast Stadium sits on the picturesque harbor of Gosford in NSW’s Central Coast. The palm trees that line the southern end of the ground have ingrained themselves into the identity of the A-League team, the Central Coast Mariners.

4. Stadio Luigi Ferraris – Genoa, Italy

The shared home ground of Serie A rivals Sampdoria and Genoa, Stadio Luigi Ferraris is an architectural masterpiece, named after Luigi Ferraris, an Italian footballer, engineer, and soldier who died during WWI.

Formally called Stadio Marassi, the ground is the oldest Italian stadium that is continually used for professional sport.

3. Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium – Venice, Italy

Coming in third, is Venezia F.C.’s Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium. Italy’s second-oldest stadium is still continually used.

The stadium sits beside the famous canals of Venice, surrounded by beautiful, historic buildings.  The club has made use of the limited seating, with vibrant letters spelling “VENEZIA” in amongst a collage of club colors, orange, green, and black.

2. Guangzhou Evergrande stadium – Guangzhou, China

The home ground of the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande is still under construction, but the stunning design inspired by a Lotus flower left us no choice but to include this stadium on the list.

Seating more than 100,000 fans, Guangzhou Evergrande stadium will be one of the largest football arenas in the world. Multiple designs have been considered for the stadium but the final construction is set to be completed at the end of this year.

1. Stade Louis II – Fontvieille, Monaco

Known for its terracotta roof and distinctive arches, AS Monaco’s home stadium, may not be the largest stadium in the world, but it is arguably the most beautiful.

Stade Louis II is the only sports stadium in the principality of Monaco and is used primarily for football (soccer) but it regularly hosts athletics events.
