(Newswire.net — August 6, 2017) — There is a lot of budget training bikes, weight benches and other top equipment out there that can set you up with a stylish home gym without breaking four figures (see Indoor Training Bikes to learn more). But what if you can’t even break 3 figures? What if your budget is limited to just $100?

In this short guide, I’ll point out some top home gym equipment for less than $100, helping you to build muscle and get fit without blowing a fortune on top equipment or spending big on a gym subscription.

Dumbbell Set = $40

This is where the majority of your limited budget needs to be spent. You only need a single dumbbell and a small set of weights. If you shop smartly you can get this secondhand for less than $20. If you buy new, you should still pay a maximum of $50.

Those weights should be more than enough to get you started and to help you reach a high level. They will allow you to perform several stretching exercises, from curls to shrugs and more. You will be able to work all of your arm, as well as your back. And if you perform leans, then you can also build your stomach muscles with them.

Resistance Bands = $5 to $20

These bands are very simple and very cheap. A good one will cost you $10, but you can get them for half that. If you have the money we would recommend investing in a resistance set, which will cost you around $20 to $30. It will include a series of bands and attachments that will allow you to use your body weight to work all muscles.

Even with a simple $5 you can work most of the muscles in your legs with ease, making these a must for any budget home gym.

Jump Rope = $5 to $10

The ultimate in cardio training, the jump rope is just a few bucks and yet it’ll get your heart rate going and will generally help with cardio all-over. That’s why it’s so popular with strength athletes, including boxers. It’s a great way to stay fit and to warm up and it’ll also text your dexterity.

Pull-Up Bar = $20

These simple bars can be mounted to the frame of your door. They are easy to install and they provide a great way to build up the muscles in your biceps, triceps, shoulders and back. The main purpose is to bulk up those shoulders and biceps, but if you have the strength and your door frame is wide enough, then it’s a great exercise for your back and chest.

You will need to be under a certain weight, of course, so make sure your doorframe is solid and be sure to test the bar thoroughly before use.

Yoga Mat = $10

Finally, while this might seem like one of those superfluous and unnecessary things, it’s actually essential if you have hardwood floors or even if you just want a little more grip. A yoga mat is designed to avoid slipping and sliding underneath you, which will allow you to perform an array of moves and stretches without fear of slipping and injuring yourself.
