$576 Million Dollar TV & Computer Monitor Settlement Reaching Urgent December 7th Deadline

(Newswire.net — November 18, 2015) Los Angeles, California — Businesses, business owners, and others who bought TVs, computer monitors, or scientific/medical equipment from 1995 to 2007 are allowed to claim money in a $576 million class action lawsuit settlement.   This settlement specifically covers products with Cathode Ray Tube (“CRT”) displays, the bulky screens used before flat screens were developed.

There is no cost or risk to file a claim, and businesses and other claimants may potentially get thousands of dollars depending on the number of items purchased. No receipts or other proof is required to file. The simple forms take only minutes.

Businesses may qualify for money if they bought CRT products for their own use, in one of these following states, between March 1, 1995 and November 25, 2007: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and District of Columbia. (Purchases in Hawaii, Nebraska and Nevada have slightly shorter time periods.)

This enormous payout stems from multiple lawsuits settled after years of bitter court fights. The cases allege that CRT manufacturers conspired to fix prices, causing illegal overcharges.

“Businesses who can claim these refunds only have till December 7th,” says David Jones, Director of the Class Action Claim Center in Los Angeles, which helps businesses claim money in major cases. “Those who may benefit substantially include businesses with many CRT products, such as motels and hospitals with TVs in every room. Many other types of qualifying businesses too.”

Many businesses can claim large multiple purchases, since CRT products typically wore out, failed, or were upgraded every few years. “The fund is over $576 million but many qualifying businesses have not filed,” Jones warned. “The refund amount for each purchase depends partly upon the total number of claims. A smaller number of total claims may mean even larger payments for each business who claims.”

Jones urges businesses to act, because the filing deadline is December 7, 2015. Time is needed for preparation and filing of the Claim documents. Details are at www.CRTrefunds.com.  Jones reemphasized, “There’s no risk or cost to file a claim and hundreds or thousands of dollars is a nice ‘gift’ for letting us do the work.”
