(Newswire.net — April 19, 2021) Orlando, FL — Worldwide, estimates reveal that roughly 500 billion cups of coffee are consumed every year. It is worth realizing that intake of this beverage has long been associated with a myriad of health benefits.
According to a new study, drinking coffee may actually do more than boosting energy and alertness levels.
This study was carried out in the Krembil Brain Institute, part of the Krembil Research Institute. In this research, it has been found coffee consumption may offer protection from the onset of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Dr. Donald Weaver, Co-director of the Krembil Brain Institute, says that coffee consumption does seem to have some correlation to a decreased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.
“But we wanted to investigate why that is — which compounds are involved and how they may impact age-related cognitive decline,” he adds.
The researchers have identified a group of compounds called phenylindanes, which emerge as a result of the roasting process for coffee beans. These compounds are called by the investigators to be a dual-inhibitor.
They suggest that the process of roasting results in higher quantities of phenylindanes. This means that dark roasted coffee may be more protective than light roasted coffee.
It is worth realizing that while most neurodegenerative diseases remain incurable, researchers are finding some natural remedies like coffee may aid in warding off cognitive decline.
One is berberine, which many experts believe to be a multipotent anti-Alzheimer’s weapon. This natural healing remedy may work wonders in addressing conditions caused by accelerated aging.
Experts say that berberine contains a natural isoquinoline alkaloid, which possesses a wide range of pharmacological effects.
A study was carried out in Shandong University of Technology in China.
In this new study, the investigators reviewed the multiple activities of berberine. These include its antioxidants as well as its acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) inhibitory, as well as its monoamine oxidase inhibitory, amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptide-level reducing activities.
Research suggests that berberine aids in preventing oxidation damage to the brain’s biomolecules. What makes it all the more beneficial it that it also inhibits enzymes that work in breaking down important memory molecules.
Today, berberine is widely resorted to for various medicinal benefits. It is important to understand that this natural remedy may aid in reducing the peptides that can interfere with proper memory function.
What makes it all the more beneficial is that it also reduces lipids that interfere with cerebral blood flow. In a rat model, the use of berberine even significantly decreased spatial memory impairment.
Divine Bounty Berberine may be an excellent formula to use for individuals who want to experience the therapeutic goodness of this natural remedy (http://www.amazon.com/Berberine-Supplement-600mg-Per-Capsule/dp/B06XPCSTYM).
