A Study Warns Against Bacterial Toxins in Patients With UTIs

The researchers analyzed urine samples coming from 223 patients with community-acquired UTIs. They were able to detect evidence of colibactin synthesis in 55 of the samples examined. What makes the findings even more interesting is that the UPEC strains, which were isolated from the patients, produced colibactin.
