According to Wikipedia, “Zagat Survey was established by Tim and Nina Zagat in 1979 as a way to collect and correlate the ratings of restaurants by diners.” And Zagat.com states, “Zagat Survey is based on the belief that the shared experiences of large numbers of users is inherently more accurate than the opinions of a few critics.”
In other words, it’s not biased since it’s based on user’s reviews, which makes it a more trustworthy rating system.
When asked how he felt for winning this award, Matt Shlemon, owner of Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ was quoted as saying, “When I received the award from Zagat that we had been voted Best BBQ in San Diego, I just couldn’t sleep from the excitement. Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ meats are slowly cooked over a period of 17 to 24 hours in a 1-ton smoker that was imported directly from Texas. This results in tender, juicy meats that have a delicious smoky flavor in every bite.
