Event organizer, Tracy Hollowood reminded readers, “Our soldiers are there for us when we need them. We can’t ignore them or their families in their hour of need. Funds raised from the charity event will be used to improve the lives of all affected by physical and mental injury. I’m supporting ABF The Soldiers Charity because they are the original hero helpers who have been around since 1944. Show your patriotism and do your bit for our heroes.”
Some of the activities and speakers who will be present include Andy Reid, inspirational and motivational speaker and comedian Jed Stone. The Liverpool Batala Reggae Samba band will be performing with dancing and disco until late. Foods include hot pot and curry with great raffle prizes and auctions with some awesome surprises.
Speaking about his work with ABF Charity, Andy Reid explained “I am now ready to start a new chapter in my life on civvy street which will allow me the time to get even more involved with The Soldiers’ Charity because it supports the full spectrum of the Army family. The Soldiers Charity has been helping soldiers and their families for nearly 70 years.”
Andy Reid lost his his right and left legs and his right arm in 2009, while serving with the Third Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment in Afghanistan. He stepped on a pressure plate IED.
