(Newswire.net — June 7, 2014) St. Petersburg, FL. — Traditional cigarettes have approximately six hundred different ingredients according to the American Lung Association. However, when traditional cigarettes are burned, these 600 ingredients create over 7,000 chemicals with many of them being highly toxic and poisonous. There are no warning labels on cigarettes about these toxic chemicals and poisons in tobacco smoke that are dangerous to the smoker, and the other people that are subjected to the second hand smoke.

The e Liquid that e Cigarettes use can be made of a very high quality FDA approved Nicotine extract that filters out many of these toxins and poisons. Beware though, because many of the e Liquids that are available do not use this high quality FDA approved Nicotine extract because of the cost.

The American Lung Association explains that out of the approximately 7,000 chemicals produced in cigarette smoke 69 of them are known carcinogens, or cancer causing agents. “Smoking is directly responsible for approximately 90 percent of lung cancer deaths and approximately 80-90 percent of COPD (emphysema and chronic bronchitis) deaths.,” explains the American Lung Association website.

This is a list of just a fraction of the toxic and poisonous chemicals released when tobacco is burned, along with some of the places they are found:

  • Tar – material that is used for paving roads

  • Arsenic – used as a poison for rats and other pests

  • Acetone – found in nail polish remover

  • Carbon Monoxide – dangerous chemical that is released in the fumes of car exhaust

  • Acetic Acid –  is an ingredient in hair dye

  • Formaldehyde – common embalming fluid used as a preservative for dead bodies

  • Ammonia – often used as a common household cleaner

  • Lead – highly toxic metal that is used in batteries

  • Benzene – commonly found in rubber cement

  • Butane – chemical that is used in lighter fluid

  • Toluene – used in the manufacturing of paint

  • Cadmium – an active component in battery acid

  • Methanol – a main component in rocket fuel

  • Naphthalene – a common ingredient used to make mothballs

  • Hexamine – chemical that is found in BBQ lighter fluid
