The Ballroom Dance co-op in Queensland was born from a need to have cohesive support across the partnered dance spectrum. The intention of the Ballroom Dance Co-op is to provide a way for all participants from social dancers, dance operators, suppliers, dance musicians and the wider dance community to prosper.
2020 has presented a series of unique challenges and forced changes that affect all members of the Ballroom Dance Co-op. These unprecedented requirements for continued operation have included a special pack introduced in July 2020. In October further plans were outlined in the new DDPA Industry Plan requirements. The status of the plan at present is in the “review awaits approval” phase and the co-op has responded by presenting the Recreational Structured Partner Dancing (RSPD) Special Pack Offer for dance operators.
Dance operators include dance instructors, dance conveners, dance clubs, and dance clubs, and dance suppliers. Also, an associated but distinct group are the dance supporters. Those include every member of the dance community regardless of age or ability who support dance.
The co-op invites all dance lovers to see what level of support they would like to participate in as the Ballroom Co-op moves forward. Levels begin with individual supporters. These are personal subscribers who attend or foster social or comp dancers with the intent to enjoy or compete in this fulfilling art-form.
Also, suppliers play an important part in the Ballroom Dance Co-op as the folks who provide goods or services to the wider dance community across the sector. Suppliers would be those who cater to the apparel, shoes, music, NV-Scripts and other needs of the dance co-op.
Further categories include entities both Inc or Ltd organisations and education facilities like formal schools and community-based organisations that both facilitate Ballroom Dance both publicity and support the co-op.
All the above are asked to support the Ballroom Dancing Co-op as the dance community goes through this challenging phase of history. The organisation also invites those with a range of operating costs and venture needs to contact them to see if they can be of assistance.
