(Newswire.net — February 9, 2018) Dallas, TX –Delos Shipping, a multinational maritime investment firm founded by Brian D. Ladin, recently announced that the company has secured long-term leases for MV World Odyssey, a German cruise vessel. This marks the company’s first entry into the cruise vessel segment of the maritime industry. Delos Shipping was instrumental in structuring the acquisition of the vessel and also provided financial guidance for the deal. By sourcing equity capital to finance the acquisition, Mr. Ladin says that his company is breaking new ground with an eye on the future. “We are very pleased with this vessel acquisition,” says Mr. Ladin. “The company’s long-range plans for expansion into other commercial shipping markets are coming into focus.” To learn more about Brian and his experiences in the maritime shipping industry, visit https://newswire.net/newsroom/pr/00097548-brian-ladin-of-delos-shipping-shares-viewpoint-on-eloran.html.
Built in 1998 by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) in Kiel, Germany, the ship, also sailing as the MS Deutschland, boasts seven passenger decks and can accommodate nearly 600 students. It is 175 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 22,400 GT. It is crewed by up to 260 personnel.
Delos Shipping was established in 2008. The firm specializes in providing debt capital and equity to shipping companies around the globe. Delos operates a fleet of commercial cargo vessels including offshore, dry bulk and container ships. Brian Ladin is no stranger to complex investments; his firm was part of the multimillion-dollar restructuring efforts of Konig & Cie, another German shipping concern. “Expansion into the cruise vessel market with the acquisition and leasing of the MV World Odyssey is only the first step for our company,” adds Mr. Ladin. “We are in the process of negotiating the acquisition of other cruise ships and commercial vessels, positioning our company for healthy growth in the coming years.” Other large-scale investment projects are coming into fruition as well. A subsidiary of the shipping investment firm, Delos Energy LLC, is about to break ground on an innovative waste-to-energy powerplant located in Los Angeles, California. Delos Energy created a partnership with Ener-Core to install zero-emissions power generating units at the facility, which will make it one of the lowest emission power plants on the planet when construction is completed in late 2018.
