(Newswire.net — October 5, 2016) Costa Mesa, CA –The Center Club Orange County hosted more than 300 guests, helping raise nearly $30,000 during last night’s 10th Annual Charity Classic called Hops & Vines, which set new records for the event’s attendance and fund-raising efforts.
As special guests, VIP and media arrived, the doors opened for an evening with tantalizing sights, sounds and tastes. As hors d’oeuvres circulated, numerous food displays surrounded the grounds, with fine wine and craft brews being poured from several sponsoring brands. Perhaps the highlight was during a seemingly impromptu LIVE auction, led by emcee James K. McPartland. As guests vied a 10-person dinner hosted and prepared personally by executive chef Lewis Butler at the Center Club, General Manager Shahin Vosough offered to triple this gift raising donations to more than $3,000 for three winning bids.
The event honoree, venerable community philanthropist and previous Chair of the Club’s Board of Governors, Victoria Collins, Ph.D also gave a short address, sharing that the first wedding ever hosted at the Center Club Orange County was for her and husband David in 1985.
Long-time Newport Beach community hero Ralph Rodheim and wife Penny were also recognized for their battle of ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Event sponsors were headed up by Stifel — Irvine Spectrum, Isabel & Paul Evan Greenwald, Humphrey & Associates, Citizens Bank, HBLA CPAs, Lou Delmonico, Liza and Stuart Crasser, Pentad Financial Services, LLL, Sunup Group, Inc. Richard Van Meter, MD and Bart Zandbergan, CFP.
Proceeds from the event benefit the following causes supporting the health and vitality of Orange County: Augie’s Quest to Cure ALS and the ALS Therapy Development Institute, Anaheim Family YMCA, Center Club OC Cares, Employee Partner Care Foundation, Women Helping Women and the YMCA of Orange County.
Chef Butler rolled out an impressive menu too significant to list, and poured more than 20 wines from Stags Leap, Penfords, Beringer, Rodney Strong Vineyards, and Davis Bynum. Local favorite Four Sons Brewery headlines the featured breweries including The Brewery, Ballast Point and Cismontane Brewing.
The Center Club’s next signature event is slated for September 28, 2017.
