(Newswire.net — (Aug.9, 2014) Washington, D.C — The best way to inspire a future generation of world leaders is by having them learn directly from the leaders of today. This appears to be the philosophy that Ping An Group, a Chinese financial services provider, has embraced and set in motion. Many students spend their summers at camps or in classrooms, but one fortunate group of students spent their summer interacting with leaders of prestigious organizations such as Harvard, West Point, The United Nations, and the United States Capitol—just to name a few.
The group, led by Dan Stephenson, founder of Zi Chinese Dual Language Immersion Foundation, was introduced to leaders in education, military, media, and political sectors. William Wang, the organizer of the experience said, “The young leaders on this trip are going to have an amazing opportunity to learn from leaders of these top organizations. You never know what interaction will inspire our youth to one day change the world; the key is to give them opportunities to be inspired.”
In addition to meeting with these organizations, the students received instruction on diplomacy from the head of the Chinese Embassy and spent time collaborating with US Chinese Language Immersion students from the Yu Ying School.
Part of the overall experience of this once in a lifetime trip included taking time for some cultural adventures. The youth were given a tour of Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, along with visits to a few of the nations top museums. American food was also on the itinerary and the students were able to try some regional American food in both Boston and in New York City.
“This experience our youth are having in the US is a chance of a lifetime,” said Mr. Yu Qiang, Vice President of Ping An Bank: Private Banking. “As a private bank manager, we want to help parents motivate and inspire greatness in their children. Experiences like these are what young people need to help them achieve their dreams.”
Ping An has received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of its charitable work, including: “The Most Respected Companies of China” award for 12 consecutive years, and “Best Chinese Corporate Citizen” for 8 consecutive years. They also hold a top ranking in social responsibility reports by listed companies for 5 consecutive years. One of the worthy causes that they focus on is educating their community and it follows right in line with their philosophy that “expertise creates value.”
The students involved in this trip of a lifetime will likely agree that the educational opportunity did create value in their lives and will continue to do so for many years to come.
