Dr. Barr to Host Breast Implant Illness Seminar

(Newswire.net — August 22, 2019) West Palm Beach, FL — Dr. Fredric Barr, world-renowned cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon, is pleased to announce he will be hosting a special educational event to discuss breast implant illness (BII) and some of the treatment options available for women who may wish to have their breast implants removed. 

Dr. Barr’s Live Event “Breast Implant Illness Education Seminar” will take place on Tuesday, September 10th from 11:00 – 1:00 PM (EST) at Palm Beach Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery located at 1411 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, FL. There is no cost to attend, and valet parking is complimentary. 

Dr. Barr will be joined by Dee Hicks and Terri Diaz, two incredible women with stories of breast implant illness who support and fight for women suffering from BII. 

Dee Hicks had her breast explant in 2016. She has dedicated the past three years of her life doing advocacy work for BII and she helps manage the largest Facebook support group  

“Breast Implant Illness and Healing by Nicole”. Dee traveled to DC twice to attend meetings with the FDA. She had the privilege of speaking on behalf and fighting for the women who did not have a voice.  

Terri Diaz was one of 20 women asked to speak at the FDA in September 2018 in a closed meeting on the safety of breast implants. She was asked to speak again at an FDA open meeting in March 2019.

Dr. Barr strives to empower women through education and support to help guide them in making the very personal decision about whether or not to remove their implants. This event will provide relevant, up-to-date information to help women make an educated decision about what they feel would be best for their health.

With the safety of breast implants becoming more controversial, Dr. Barr has changed how he practices. “Due to ongoing FDA and Clinical Investigation along with heightened patient concerns and reports regarding breast implants, I have chosen NOT to perform Breast Implants,” says Dr. Barr.
