(Newswire.net — April 16, 2013) Irvine, CA — eWaste Security announced the addition of a highly certified hard drive wiping platform to their arsenal of data destruction tools. The highly sophisticated platform featuring software licensed through WhiteCanyon, Inc., is a disk sanitizing tool that permanently erases all data from hard drives and other data storage devices. This platform permanently destroys all data according to stringent multi-agency standards making any type of data recovery impossible, yet allows re-use of sanitized storage devices.
“We are very pleased with our new hard drive wiping platform.” said Gary Scott, founder and CEO at eWaste Security. “We did a considerable amount of research and testing prior to implementing this platform.” eWaste Security is based in Irvine, California and provides diverse data destruction, electronics recycling, and paper shredding services primarily in Southern California with clients nationwide.
eWaste Security’s new disk sanitizing tool permanently erases all data from hard drives and other data storage devices. This includes but is not exclusive to: HPA partitions, DCO partitions, remapped sectors, operating systems, programs, and user files. This data is permanently destroyed as to make any type of forensic data recovery impossible. The configuration of eWaste Security’s new platform enables the sanitization of multiple drives at once with a complete audit log detailing the wipe process. The audit log feature includes documenting the drive serial number, date of sanitization, pattern used, and protections removed.
CEO Gary Scott says the software portion of the platform is the most highly certified hard drive wiping technologies he has evaluated. The product license through WhiteCanyon, inc. has been approved by NIAP’s EAL 4+ Standard, is listed on the Armed Forces Approved Product List, and has passed rigorous tests performed by the U.S. Air Force on IT security and efficacy. The NIAP Certification means that it complies with international disk wipe standards including US DoD 5220.22-M, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, FACTA, US Army AR380-19, US Air Force System Security Instruction 5020, US Navy Staff Office Publication P-5329-26, US National Computer Security Center TG-025, plus several Australian, Canadian, and German standards.
Scott says that eWaste Security had been getting more client requests for hard disk sanitizing. “More and more clients were looking at hard drive wiping as an alternative to hard drive destruction,” says Scott. “Using our new certified and secure hard disk sanitizing platform, our clients now have an option to safely destroy their data and then reuse or resell the wiped hard drives.”
eWaste Security provides mobile data destruction services and comprehensive e-waste recycling to a variety of businesses in multiple industries. eWaste Security’s client base is centered primarily in Orange County and Southern California, but they service clients nationwide. Their specialty is mobile, on-site data destruction that allows eWaste’s clients the added security of electronic storage media being destroyed on their clients’ premises. On site destruction can mitigate some of the risks involved with transporting sensitive data storage media off site where its final disposition cannot be monitored by the disposer.
