Experts Warn a Weight Loss Surgery Weakens the Bones

The study has shown that one year after surgery, adolescents who had sleeve gastrectomy lost 34 (+/-13) kg, or 75 (+/-28) pounds. Further, those who had the surgery experienced a significant increase in bone marrow fat as well as a reduction in bone density in the lumbar spine.
