(Newswire.net — June 20, 2014) Franklin, Tennessee — Franklin Christian Academy is currently building a 19,000 square foot facility to accommodate 180 students. The building is comprised of eight classrooms, an office, and a large gymnasium with a full size basketball court and two small practice courts. Stephanie Radbill, FCA’s Director of Curriculum, discussed the details of her faculty’s exciting new project with OI Furniture.

“Each classroom will be equipped with an Apple TV and a glass “store front” door that opens so that students can enjoy God’s creation,” said Radbill.

Franklin Christian Academy was founded by a group of families in 2004. In 2009, FCA gained accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Today, the FCA has begun working on its new facilities. The project, on which OI Furniture is working, has entered phase 1A of its 3 phrase project.

Stephanie Radbill has been in education for fourteen years, but this project has been her first foray into furnishing a school. She has enjoyed working with the skilled sales team at OI.

“I appreciated OI and their flexibility and quick responses,” Radbill said. “Adam Cohen (OI Vice President of Sales) was always quick to respond and even deliver samples of desks and chairs so we could try them out first hand.  We were never pressured to purchase furniture we were not sure of, and they were patient while we made our decisions and decided what we could financially afford.”

Radbill along with Lisa Harris, FCA’s Dean of Faculty, and Hugh Harris, FCA’s Headmaster came into OI with a clear vision of what they wanted for their new facility.

“We wanted furniture that was high quality yet suitable and conducive for the learning environment,” Radbill said  “We chose desks that can be used in various ways for collaborative learning.”

Clearer even than their vision for what they want in education furniture is FCA’s vision for what they want in an education.

“Franklin Christian Academy is a school dedicated to challenging academics, life-giving community, and transforming discipleship. Christ is the reason we live, learn, and teach,” said Radbill. “We focus not only on the academics of the student, but the student as a whole (spirit, mind, and body). Although a building is a simple structure, we have planned this current project with our education method and focus in mind.”

FCA’s website, franklinchristianacademy.org, lists the school’s vision and mission. We at OI Furniture thank Stephanie Radbill for granting us an interview and hope that FCA’s new facility and furnishings aid the academy in achieving their goals in education.
