(Newswire.net — December 28, 2016) — Lance Allred, the first deaf player in NBA history, got the best gift of all just in time for the new year; his TEDx talk, What Is Your Polygamy, just passed one million views! One million! Undoubtedly, it’s a remarkable achievement for anyone, but for Lance, its significance cuts deeper.

“One million views tells me people are listening, my ideas are resonating and I’m touching lives. I was excited when I hit one hundred thousand views, one million is surreal. And the response… it’s been overwhelming! So much love! So much appreciation for what I have to say.”

In the past two months alone, Lance has been featured in USA Today, spoken to thousands – including a middle school trying to cope with a shooting, already slated to speak at numerous events next year, and is busy writing his next book.

Lance attributes this demand to his authenticity and unique life experiences. He’s extremely transparent about the good and bad experiences. He wants people to understand that the “him” on stage today is a testament to lots of hard-fought struggles. And that the same “him” on stage today, still faces challenges.

Fans across the globe are already realizing why Lance is a breath of fresh air in a world crowded with “quick-fixers,” “know-it-alls” and the “nothing-in-my-life-ever-goes-wrong” types.

“Lance’s talk was thought provoking, steeped in real-world wisdom and refreshingly authentic. Even though he and I are different people, it doesn’t matter. I completely connected with his message around the single question, “What is your polygamy?” and found value in looking at my own life through that lens. I look forward to reading his books and listening to him speak again!”

– Josh Taylor, TEDx Salt Lake City Participant.

What is your polygamy? reached the million view milestone in a relatively short period of time, but Lance knows the five or ten million mark is within reach. Why? Because religion touches nearly everyone on this planet and Lance’s story, told his way, and with his insights, is about as interesting and compelling a story about religion can get.

“Lots of people ask me if I am really talking about polygamy or not and I usually answer by saying, my experiences in polygamy were very real. In fact, for almost my entire childhood, it was the ONLY thing I knew. Today, I’m very fortunate I’m aware of so much more. So this is the core of my challenge; what do you think or believe you know really well – what’s your polygamy? Are you sure? Maybe it’s time to take another look.”
