Courses offered by the Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy have been updated to optimize the use of online learning techniques and to include additional content such as proven business strategies, for students planning to start their own company.
The Dermysk Medical Aesthetics Academy, a MedSpa training school with locations across Canada, is now offering updated courses that include everything required to become fully certified as a practicing aesthetician in Canada, as well as an overview of the industry and regulatory concerns, and a range of effective business strategies.

While the Dermysk Academy training focuses primarily on helping new aestheticians to complete their certification, and existing aestheticians to upgrade their skills, their updated courses also cover topics related to starting and operating a new medical aesthetic clinic. Graduates of the Academy will be fully certified and capable of launching a new business, regardless of whether they have enrolled in Basic, Advanced, or Master level training.
To enroll in the updated Basic training, students must have at least a high school diploma or some form of relevant work experience. This course will help new students get certified in up to a dozen common medical aesthetic procedures, such as radiofrequency rejuvenation, micro-blading, dermaplaning, and laser hair or tattoo removal.
Graduates of the Basic course, or aestheticians with at least 5 years of industry experience, can enroll in the Advanced course to gain their certification in more complex techniques, such as Body Sculpting and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments. This course also includes individualized business strategies, a unit on communication issues, and suggestions for managing some of the more common problems associated with medical aesthetic clinics.
The Dermysk Academy also offers a unique Master-level training program, though they reserve the right to accept or decline students for this course on an individual basis. While this course has no official prerequisites, it includes everything covered in both their Basic and Advanced courses, as well as exclusive Master-level training, and a Master Of Medical Aesthetics certification.
A spokesperson explained, “The idea of setting up a medical aesthetic clinic in the same locations [as the training academy] allows our futures to rub shoulders with our nurses, teachers, and doctors who teach the next generation the highest standards in the industry. Our values are rooted in excellence, empowerment, and commitment.”
