(Newswire.net — October 24, 2019) Winnetka, IL — According to statistics, there are 33.5 percent of 71 million adults in the United States who have high levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or “bad,” cholesterol.

Health authorities have long been warning that individuals with high cholesterol may have around twice the risk of heart disease compared to those with lower levels. It is important to remember that heart disease is the top cause of death in the country.

Experts further reveal that only 1 out of every 3 American adults with high LDL is able to control the condition. It is worth realizing that reducing the levels of cholesterol can significantly decrease the risk of a heart attack.

The American Heart Association (AHA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) agree that having the right diet could aid in reducing levels of cholesterol.

The American Heart Association warns against intake of lamb, fatty beef, lard, poultry with skin, some dairy products, and trans fats.

Trans fats can be found in crackers, potato chips, packaged cookies, bacon, red meat, sausage, donuts, and pastries as well as commercially fried foods and packaged frosting.

It is instead recommended to choose foods rich in fiber, such as nuts, seeds, and fatty fish.

There are natural remedies found to be particularly helpful in decreasing cholesterol and triglyceride levels. One is ashwagandha, which is an ancient medicinal herb found to offer a range of health benefits.

According to multiple research studies, ashwagandha has adaptogenic, anti-angiogenic agents, immunomodulatory, antimicrobial, cardioprotective, antidepressant, tannins, potassium, nitrate, fatty acids and glucose.

It doesn’t just have anxiolytic, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, hypocholesteremic, and anti-malarial potentials, but it also contains steroidal alkaloids – sominine, somniferine, withanolides and anferine. It is even a rich source of flavonoids, acyl steryl glucosides and lactones.

Through its ability to lower levels of cholesterol and triglyceride, it could work wonders helping fight heart disease.

Scientists carried out animal studies and found that ashwagandha significantly reduced blood flats. More particularly, in a study involving rats, it has been found that this medicinal herb reduced total cholesterol by as much as 53 percent and triglycerides by nearly 45 percent.

In a 60-day study involving chronically stressed adults, it has been shown that the highest dosage of ashwagandha led in a reduction in LDL cholesterol by 17 percent. There was also a decrease in triglyceride levels by 11 percent.

This therapeutic ingredient could work wonders in delivering a range of health benefits. It can be obtained through the use of supplements like NutraHerbals Ashwagandha (www.amazon.com/organic-ashwagandha-root-powder/dp/B01GZALWGO).
