(Newswire.net — May 12, 2014) Cary, NC — Lawrence Harte,  author of over 112 books on wireless, TV technology, marketing, and billing systems, spoke last week at the Digital Marketing For Business Conference held in Raleigh, NC. He delivered five sessions related to digital marketing, exposing some shocking secrets concerning the Internet TV & Radio broadcasting industries. Mr. Harte has been a speaker and moderator at numerous industry trade shows and conferences including CTIA, TelcoTV, IWCE, Telecom Business Opportunities, and many others.

During Mr. Harte’s lecture regarding Internet TV, also known as Over the Top Television (OTT), it was mentioned with the advent of DVRs and other recording options, that the main difference between broadcast television and “streaming”, via the internet, is that you can’t skip commercials when you’re streaming. “When you’re streaming, you have to register, so they know exactly who you are. Now they may be limited by Privacy Laws not to give out specific details to potential advertisers, but they can pass on relative age, gender, possible family size, and regional information to those advertisers.” This gives solicitors powerful information by which they can pin point people with targeted offers. Retargeting (ads following you from site to site) are also the norm, with current technologies employed.

With a background in telecommunication technologies, Mr. Harte founded QIC Learning in 2011, for the creation and instruction of short business and technology courses in the Raleigh-Durham region of North Carolina. Asked how he’s become an expert witness for so many cases, Lawrence stated, “I’ve never had to advertise for a single case. I’ve always been contacted by attorney offices because of the books that I’ve published on Amazon. Just search on Amazon for ‘TV Advertising’, I’m one of the top five.”

Lawrence is also the holder of two patents; one for cellular telephones, and another related to portable radiotelephones. Further, he’s the creator of several technical LinkedIn groups, including TV Advertising Technologies. Mr. Harte is also the President of Althos Publishing.

When not working on specific court cases, Mr. Harte enjoys writing and publishing technical books and for IPTV Magazine. “I’m always looking to interview executives & technology leaders in the TV Technology, Wireless, & Marketing industries. If you want to be interviewed for magazine articles & our other media channels, contact me.”, says Lawrence.

Mr. Harte has consulted for, and has been an internet TV qualified expert witness for companies including AT&T, Nokia, Google, Hughes Network Systems, Casio, Ericsson, Samsung, Sony, AMD, VLSI, Siemens and others. His specialties include: TV Technology, Internet Marketing, Mobile Communication, VoIP, and Billing Systems Analysis and Development.
