(Newswire.Net — June 17, 2013) IRVINE, California – This spring and summer, LePort Schools, the leading Montessori preschool in Irvine, is investing heavily in upgrading its two longest-standing Irvine campuses.

The Irvine Lake preschool, which opened in October 2003 and is located near the Woodbridge shopping center, will complete its renovations by early June. Upgrades include new flooring in the classrooms and a new paint job, in addition to keypad locks at all gates, outside lighting and new blinds, all of which enhance campus safety. “The wide range of improvements, along with the beautiful gardens the children planted this spring, mean that our look now truly reflects the wonderful spirit that has always been present inside our school,” says Lucia Tompkins, Head of School at the Irvine Lake campus.

The Irvine San Marino preschool, which opened in February 2008 and is located near the Irvine Civic Center, will undergo a major renovation this summer. When the project is complete, all toddler classrooms will have direct access to their respective play yards, and each room will have its own toddler-sized bathroom. Several rooms will increase in size, allowing children to have more room to move and offering more space for the full range of Montessori preschool materials.  Two rooms that previously had no outside windows will be reconfigured to provide daylight to all children. “Our parents are very excited about this project. With the renovations, most preschool students will now be able to move freely between the inside of the classroom and the room’s associated outside space, throughout the school day”, said Susan Locke, Head of School at the Irvine San Marino campus. “It’s wonderful that students can now be outside to garden, work with water, arrange flowers or engage in arts and crafts activities, and don’t need to wait for recess times to enjoy the wonderful weather we have here in Irvine.”

Campus renovations will also slightly increase the enrollment capacity for the preschool program. A few spots thus are open for 3 and 4-year-olds to start preschool in September. The toddler programs at all four Irvine LePort campuses are filled, but waitlist applications are encouraged.

Interested parents are encouraged to apply for the preschool program right away, as the few new spots will fill quickly. Parents can see the campus improvements at the upcoming preschool Open House at the Irvine Lake campus, June 8th, 10 am – 12 pm, at 26 Lake Road in Irvine.

LePort Schools has been educating Orange County children for 13 years, and operates six preschools and private schools in Huntington Beach and Irvine, serving children from infants through 8th grade. For more information about the company, visit www.LePortSchools.com.
