(Newswire.net — June 14, 2014) Phoenix, Arizona — In an economy where many Phoenix Architects are struggling to stay in business, it is wonderful to see someone that has flourished over the last 6 years despite national economic hardship. John Anthony Design & Drafting, a luxury custom home Architectural Design firm based in the Phoenix, Arizona region, is one such firms celebrating a huge milestone by anyone’s standards.
Final results of a poll through which responders were asked to reveal who they felt was one of the top Phoenix Architects generated what some are going to assert was a foreseeable final result; especially when entrepreneur and well known Archtectural Designer and luxury custom Phoenix house plans specialist John Anthony was acknowledged and recognized as among the top Phoenix Architects in Arizona recognized fo his work on several complex projects in Scottsdale and other areas in the valley.
Interestingly enough, when asking John what he thought about the results he admitted that he isn’t actually what he would call a bona fide architect. He actually self professes himself an Architectural Designer – not one of the Phoenix Architects crowd. Many of us layman haven’t the foggiest idea what the difference is between the two. But according to John, the primary difference between an Architectural Designer and an Architect is not really widely understood. Generally there exists an idea amongst the general population seeking to have custom house plans designed and drafted, that it has to be completed by a certified architect. “This is not really accurate”, according to John Anthony! “Even though the architect has had at least 4 years of college as well as a long apprenticeship with an architectural firm, this will not guarantee a comprehensive architectural package”, claims John. “One issue is hands on industry experience, and there is NO requirement for an Architect to have this kind of pertinent experience”, he continues. However, an absence of this kind of experience creates challenges not just in the roll-out of plans, but in the construction process as well, which can result in additional costs, unwanted floor plan changes, and decreased aesthetic value.
The Architectural Designer is a rare breed vs Pheonix Architects, as is the case with John Anthony. Having over 25 years of hands on experience working with all construction trades, this experience has been invaluable to his clients. “No matter how well my client’s house plans looks on paper, it’s not until you walk into the framed environment that you actually get the whole picture, and the emotional feeling of the space.” states John. That’s exactly where my hands-on field experience comes into play to the great benefit of my clients and the builder of my client’s home.
After working for years in the construction industry, and in the architectural design field John sypathizes with the architect’s dilemma as he says “I can certainly identify with their difficulties”. He continued to say “The majority of accomplished Phoenix architects draft manually, or rely on a draftsman to produce not only construction documents, but conceptual designs as well. On top of that all structural documents are developed by an engineer, or both engineer and draftsman and you can begin to see the challenges architects have with coordination of efforts. This three part equation is the challenge, as with anything the more moving parts the lower the efficiency.”
“However, to sum up what John Anthony is as an Architectural Designer would be this” admits John. “Throw in a strong dose of hands on experience in all related construction trades, mostly as a carpenter, and crew foreman in the luxury home arena. Add a formal training in Architectural Drafting, and several years working as an Architectural Designer drafting plans and you have a very good foundation for producing a product as good if not better than the top Phoenix Architects in Arizona” exclaims John. “Lets not forget the fact that this service comes with huge cost savings compared to an architect as well” admits John furthermore. Value Engineering is a strong point of the building process that cannot be effectively applied without field knowledge.
After the final poll results were in, John Anthony was mentioned as saying “To be honest, I did not even know that there was a poll taking place at all. I’m honored that many folks know my name and consider me great at what I do!” It is apparent that John works hard on his business and his craft, which seems to be a dying breed these days. John said, “I am seriously excited about what I have happening in 2014. As with other Phoenix Architects’ firms, my business is steadily growing and expanding and will continue to do so. It’s going to be a great year and I’m looking forward to working with my former clients as well as new ones too”.
