(Newswire.net — July 19, 2016) Irvine, CA — More than 12,000 laptops are lost in airports every week according to one study, and Karma Clutch announces plans to reunite these lost devices and other valuable personal items with their rightful owners. A new video released today demonstrates how the unique service adds peace of mind, and an opportunity to spread good karma. Karma Clutch will begin a Kickstarter campaign hoping to raise awareness and financial support to finalize the manufacturing and development.
According to Brian Eaton, the creative director spearheading the campaign, Karma Clutch provides the first “Return / Reward,” offering pre-set rewards for people who return lost items to their owners. The rewards are set by the item(s) owner upon registration and could range from cash rewards, product incentives, and most importantly good karma itself.
“Good karma is powerful. It can change lives and inspire people to do even more good. Karma Clutch is creating a movement towards a great cause and at the same time, raising awareness for doing the right thing,” said Eaton.
A study by cloud backup service Mozy, reveals that the average person loses 1.24 items a year averaging a cost of $220.15 per lost item. Aside from the expenses involved when an item is lost, additional stress involves losing the sentimental value of that item, time wasted looking for it and the data lost. Another recent study estimates 120,000 phones are left in Chicago taxicabs every year. It is also reported that only 5% of items are actually returned to their respective owners.
“It’s a massive inconvenience,” Eaton said. “With the Karma Clutch protection, you can avoid these hassles while breeding good karma in your future.”
Karma Clutch will be offering exclusive retail products with embedded codes in addition to specialized holograms and tags with unique identification codes that will be stored in the database upon registration. The tags are to be adhered and/or attached to personal items for protection. This acts as a virtual security system that alerts people once a lost item has been found via text, email and mobile app push notifications.
“We live in a fast-paced world where we all have way too much on our minds. It’s easy to forget and lose things. It’s nice to know there’s a safety net we can rely on, when we’ve had a momentary relapse of forgetfulness. Much of the time those moments can be a devastating experience. Karma Clutch protects you by providing the finder of your lost item(s) some “instant karma,” Eaton said.
