“One of my main concerns is public safety,” Lt. Stewart says about his free monthly newsletter, adding that the newsletter is “a relevant and up to date chronicle of local safety news.” In its first issue, the newsletter features an article on community involvement in their neighborhood watch program and its role in fighting local crime. “It starts with a choice,” Lt. Stewart says, “a choice to actively defend the safety and welfare of your community.”

The newsletter is part of Lt. Stewart’s advocacy to promote active participation in community safety and welfare in Northeast Harris County. Lt. Stewart offers the free newsletter through his website, where he also provides more information on community safety and security, as well as other important information and updates.

Lt. Stewart aims to leverage his breadth of experience as a Lieutenant for the Sherriff’s Office to deliver the most relevant and significant news to the community. Lt. Stewart first served the community back in 1991 and is still in active service today. He has worked in fields of public safety ranging from detention to patrols to correctional.

He looks to harness his experience and knowledge in law enforcement to take the appropriate step of arming community members with important and pertinent information regarding their own safety and security. “Keeping Northeast Harris County residents informed is an important step” to keeping it safe, says Lt. Stewart.

Members of the Houston, TX community can sign up for a complimentary subscription of the community newsletter by going to Lt. Stewart’s website: www.localsafetynews.com. Lt. Stewart can also be contacted through email: jamesstewart@localsafetynews.com. He also extends his time and expertise to speak at civic group and community organization activities within Northeast Harris County.
