(Newswire.net — March 1, 2016) Santa Ana, California — As OC Ramps celebrates a company milestone of eleven years in business, company president Tyler Large looks back on the achievements his family-owned operation has accomplished since opening its doors as an incorporated business in 2005.  While the company has been building custom skate ramps and halfpipes since 1997, they mark 2005 as the “official” launch, moving beyond local projects to become an international supplier for skaters all over the globe.  “Every year since our beginning, we’ve added more products and reached more skaters,” says Tyler.  “Recently, we even shipped a skate ramp to the U.S. Ambassador of Hungary – his son is an avid skateboarder.” To learn more about the company, visit http://ocramps.com/.

In the 1990s, many skaters got their ramp-building materials by stealing wood.  The results were less than satisfactory, and Tyler’s father soon worked with Tyler and his brother Brandon to develop legitimate ramps for area skaters in their hometown of Huntington Beach, California.  “My dad and I built an eight-foot quarter pipe using purchased lumber,” says Tyler.  “After he passed away, my brother and I decided to honor his memory by building and selling ramps like the one he made for us.”  Demand was intense among the skating community of Southern California, and soon the brothers had their hands full of projects.  Today, the company has sold over 20,000 skate ramps and pipes to enthusiasts as far away as Australia.

The company now boasts dozens of models of ramps and obstacles that are popular with pro skateboarders and kids alike.  The company sponsors a pro team, and added skateboarder Chris Joslin to the team’s roster last year.  Pro skaters on the team help with designing and testing new products for OC Ramps, and the company produces a Signature series of kits based on the input it gets from team skaters.  To learn more about the company’s pro team, visit https://www.ocramps.com/our-team/

The coming years will see the company continuing to grow as skateboarding captures a global fan base.  Distribution channels in other countries will allow the ramp manufacturer to bring its products overseas, expanding the range of its service and helping skaters obtain quality ramps that are easy to assemble and durable enough for daily skate sessions.  To view the company’s ramps in action, visit their online photo gallery at https://www.ocramps.com/photo-gallery/.
