Boss Brew Coffee announced the availability of a specialty Costa Rica Coffee.

Recognizable for its full body, crisp acidity, and rich flavor, Boss Brew’s Costa Rica Coffee is made with medium-roasted beans from the Caturra and Catuai varieties. As with all single-origin coffees available from Boss Brew, the Costa Rica is a specialty coffee; meaning it scored 80 points or higher on the 100-point scale developed by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

The announcement coincides with a recent report published by the National Coffee Association, which found that specialty coffee consumption reached a five-year high in 2022, with 43% of consumers now drinking specialty coffee.

As such, Boss Brew is proud to now be offering a Costa Rican specialty coffee, which is also certified USDA Organic — a testament to the organic and natural ingredients used in its production.

The Costa Rica Coffee is grown in Alajuela, part of the country’s historic coffee region West Valley. Known for its rich and robust flavor and full body, Alajuela coffee grows in mineral-rich volcanic loam soil at altitudes between 1300 to 1445 meters. As such, Boss Brew’s Costa Rica is certified SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) — a classification awarded only to the highest quality beans. Additionally, all beans are sorted by hand to remove any defective beans or foreign material, earning the Costa Rica an EP (European Preparation) seal of approval.

The Caturra and Catuai beans, two popular Arabica varieties, give the Costa Rica coffee raisin, sweet apple, and honey notes. With a fruity and bright acidity and a clean and crisp taste, this cup of java delivers a distinguished flavor and aroma.

Boss Brew roasts all its beans to order and ships the coffee in 12oz, 1lb, 2lb, and 5lb sizes. Shoppers can have their coffee delivered as whole bean for home grinding, or have Boss Brew grind the beans into standard or espresso grind.

Along with single-origin coffee from the world’s most popular coffee regions, Boss Brew sells a variety of blends and flavored coffees.

“With 43 varieties to choose from, we curate and roast small-batch coffee to order and ship directly in lieu of purchasing store-bought coffee that could have been roasted months prior,” a spokesperson added.
