(Newswire.net — August 21, 2018) Chandler, Arizona — Sibley’s West: The Chandler and Arizona Gift Shop has been recognized as the “Best Local-Only Shop” in the Valley of the Sun by Phoenix Magazine.
In its annual edition for 2018, the Editor’s Choice cited Sibley’s West’s variety of Arizona-made gift items, from scented candles from Prescott to mesquite cutting boards from Bisbee to cactus candy from Tucson. The magazine also noted the East Valley store’s array of State Forty Eight shirts, hand-painted ornaments, soaps and lotions, hot sauces and rubs to Arizona imagery and art.
Owners Michelle and John Wolfe opened Sibley’s West in December 2010 in historic Downtown Chandler with gift items from 55 Arizona suppliers.
Now approaching eight years in business, and following an expansion that doubled the store’s size, the number of Arizona artists, suppliers and manufacturers is now over 220. Among the prominent Arizona brands featured are products from the Queen Creek Olive Mill, Cerreta’s Candy Co., Tucson artist Diana Madaras, and Arizona Gunslinger hot sauces.
“We want to thank Phoenix Magazine for the tremendous recognition,” Michelle Wolfe said. “We accept it on behalf of all of our great Arizona artists and small businesses, without whom we wouldn’t have a store, and to our great staff, which loves to share their stories.”
Sibley’s West has had guests from 112 countries, who have signed the guest book and placed a sticker on their hometown on a large map in the store.
The store also maintains a website for online sales and a YouTube Channel that boasts videos with more than 150 Arizona artists and and has an active Facebook page. Sibley’s West is located at 72 S. San Marcos Place in Chandler and is open 363 days a year.
