(Newswire.net — May 7, 2014) Thomson, Illinois — A popular Illinois business known throughout the region for its restaurant, store and seed business is launching a weekly old-fashioned farmers’ market Saturday, May 10, with live music and area farmers and crafters.
The Heirloom Market & Café in Thomson, Ill., will host the Heirloom Farmers’ Market every Saturday through October, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central, offering fresh produce, homemade crafts, baked goods and heirloom started plants. Live music also will be provided each Saturday.
The location of the farmers’ market will be in front of the Heirloom Market & Café, the popular business that features an old-town bistro-style restaurant and store that sells everything from authentic Amish goods, to kids’ toys, to grass-fed beef, to heirloom seeds and plants, to solar generators. The restaurant menu features grilled Panini’s, soups, gourmet coffee, fresh-baked desserts and ice cream, along with indoor and outdoor seating.
May, in fact, has several unique events at the Heirloom Market & Café:
— May 9 – The Dad Horse Experience band will play a free concert at the Heirloom Café from 5 to 8 p.m.
— May 10 – Farmers’ market kickoff, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Music by Aaron Fullan, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
— May 11 – Mother’s Day luncheon at the café. Reservations required.
— May 17 – Farmers’ market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Music by Bob Whitten and friends, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
— May 24 – Farmers’ market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The return of the “Old Time Heirloom Hour” with Bob Whitten and Bill Heid, 10 a.m., followed by live music from the Matriarchs. There also will be live music from Charlie Crider from noon to 2 p.m., and food, beer and wine samples from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
