CFC’s were the first refrigerant on the market and they posed a lot of environmental problems, mainly the destruction of our planet’s ozone layer. Although the appliances are out of order or unused, their housing can still disintegrate and leak refrigerant or emit dangerous chemicals. It is a problem that is slowly disappearing.
