(Newswire.net — June 3, 2022) Orlando, FL — In the United States, data shows that about 100 million individuals live with pain. This has been found to result in roughly $635 billion in annual costs.

The scientific community has been looking into the remedies potentially helpful in reducing pain. It is worth noting that today, there are many people who resort to the use of medications in easing pain.

However, medications like nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are linked with side effects. The good news is that there are many remedies helpful in reducing levels of pain and inflammation.

A study was carried out and published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association.

In this small-scale study, it has been found that a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) course is helpful in patients with chronic pain and depression. It was particularly found to significantly reduce perceptions of pain and enhance the mood, and functional capacity of the subjects.

The research has particularly demonstrated that 89 percent of the subjects reported the program helped in their ability to find ways to cope with pain better while 11 percent remained neutral.

It is worth noting that in the eight-week period, the subjects received intensive instruction in mindfulness meditation and mindful hatha yoga.

“Many people have lost hope because, in most cases, chronic pain will never fully resolve,” says Cynthia Marske, DO.

Marske is an osteopathic physician and director of graduate medical education at the Community Health Clinics of Benton and Linn County.

“However, mindful yoga and meditation can help improve the structure and function of the body, which supports the process of healing.”

The research involved the use of the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), which is a standard measure of depression. It has been found there was a drop in the PHQ-9 scores by 3.7 points on a 27-point scale.

“Mindfulness-based meditation and yoga can help restore both a patient’s mental and physical health and can be effective alone or in combination with other treatments such as therapy and medication,” Dr. Maske added.

Studies looking into the various aspects of depression pile up. Experts are increasingly exploring the remedies that could be helpful in battling this mental health issue. It is worth noting that some nutrients like B vitamins could be helpful.

Over the years, some research studies have shown that intake of certain B vitamins is helpful in battling anxiety and depression. B vitamins are essential for certain bodily processes, and they are even found to work wonders in battling diseases.

Today, they are obtained widely through the use of formulas like Divine Bounty B Vitamin Complex. Every Vegetarian and odorless capsule of this supplement has B12, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and Folic Acid (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B07414752B).
