(Newswire.net — January 19, 2023) Orlando, FL — Over decades, researchers have been carrying out studies to investigate the impacts and sources of toxins and chemical compounds.
A study has particularly shown that plastic bottles actually release Bisphenol A or BPA, which is a potentially harmful chemical, after being in contact with hot liquids.
The University of Cincinnati (UC) researchers say that when it comes to BPA exposure from polycarbonate plastic bottles, it’s not about the container being new or old. It is the liquid’s temperature that actually has the most impact on how much BPA is released.
Scott Belcher, PhD, and his team has revealed that when the same new and used polycarbonate drinking bottles were exposed to hot boiling water, the release of BPA, an environmental estrogen, was 55 times more rapid than before exposure to hot water.
“Previous studies have shown that if you repeatedly scrub, dish-wash and boil polycarbonate baby bottles, they release BPA. That tells us that BPA can migrate from various polycarbonate plastics,” explains Belcher.
Belcher is UC associate professor of pharmacology and cell biophysics and corresponding study author.
“But we wanted to know if ‘normal’ use caused increased release from something that we all use, and to identify what was the most important factor that impacts release.”
Motivated by the questions from the climbing community, the investigators went on to carry out tests based on the manner that consumers use plastic water bottlers. It has been shown that the only big difference in exposure levels revolved around liquid temperature.
This is that bottles used for up to nine years released the same amount of BPA as new bottles.
It is important to be warned that BPA is one of the many man-made chemicals that are considered to be endocrine disruptors. They have the ability to alter endocrine system function by mimicking the role of the body’s natural hormones.
Multiple research studies have warned against exposure to BPA and other toxins. As more and more people are exposed to these chemicals on a daily basis, experts are increasingly investigating some remedies helpful in reducing the body’s toxic burden.
One of the ways to do this is to use activated charcoal, which has a highly porous surface that serves as a magnet to toxins and chemicals.
Today, it is widely obtained through the use of formulas like Divine Bounty Activated Charcoal. Aside from being highly potent and pure, it also has a customer satisfaction guarantee that makes every purchase risk-free (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071NZ5G57).
