Riedon Targets Current Sense Applications

These resisters range from the high demands of automotive environments where Riedon’s CLSA series chip resisters easily comply to AEC-Q200 regulations through their economic MSR series. This is evident by their ±1% tolerance resistances from 0.5 milliohms up to 1 ohm in their various package formates can have TCRs as low as ±20ppm/oC and power ratings up to 5 Watts. Reidon can provide these resistors with values ranging from 0.5mΩ to 15mΩ and can even provide resistors of custom values within the stated range. Taking it even further with their CLS/CLSA series of chip resistors, the alumina substrate Riedon uses allows for such efficient high power dissipation that these chips operate between -55oC to +155oC. Thanks to that wide temperature range, the CLSA parts easily meet the stress test qualifications of the Automotive Engineering Council’s AEC-Q200. For those looking for a resistive solution where conditions aren’t as harsh, Riedon proudly offers their MSR series. The MSR is all welded with a bare metal element designed for through-hole mounting on a circuit board. This resistor provides resistance values spanning 5mΩ to 100mΩ while still keeping a low TCR and inductance less than 10nH. To provide simple solutions for those with varied needs, the MSR resistors come with tolerances of either ±1% or ±5% in 1, 3 and 5W ratings.
