(Newswire.net — May 17, 2013) Sunnyvale, CA — On Thursday Yahoo announced its new partnership with Twitter to integrate select Tweets directly into its Yahoo News Stream.

Currently the Yahoo! Newsfeed collects news content from the internet and funnels it into different categories.

Yahoo will post relevant and personalized Tweets alongside stories from Yahoo and other sources. The move is a part of an effort for readers to discover more relevant content and people related to news stories and areas of interest. Yahoo has not yet revealed how the integration will function or which tweets will be chosen.

In a blog post Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer said “Tweets have become an important information source for many of our users. From music to sports, news to entertainment, we’re committed to delivering our users the very best of the web, and our continued partnership with Twitter is an exciting leap forward in our endeavors.”

Mayer also note this integration will roll out to all U.S. desktop and mobile web users over the next few days.

Yahoo! Inc. is an internet corporation that hosts a web portal containing mail, news, directory, advertising, and many other social media type services.
