During the newly launched dental examinations at Natural Smile Eastmed Dental, the dentists use dental X-rays to detect damage and disease not visible in a regular dental exam. They can thus identify abscesses or cysts, tooth structure, cavities, wisdom teeth, bone loss, developmental abnormalities, problems inside a tooth or below the gum line, and other issues that cannot be seen by sight only.

Digital radiography or X-ray uses an electronic sensor to capture and store the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged, helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems more easily.

In addition, digital X-rays reduce radiation up to 80 and 90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental X-rays.

The team at Natural Smile Eastmed Dental may recommend X-rays to determine the present status of the patient’s oral health and identify changes that may occur later.

Dr Dave Richards and his dedicated staff will first examine the patient’s mouth visually, using dental equipment such as mouth mirrors, dental picks, and high intensity lights. Additionally, they will take diagnostic X-rays to reveal any other hidden problems, especially in the areas below the gums.

A satisfied patient said: “Dave and his team are fantastic and I am really happy with Dave’s work on my teeth. I’ve waited 33 years to be able to smile properly again, and now I can thanks to the Natural Smile team. Highly recommended, modern, friendly, professional and very helpful.”
