(Newswire.net — November 7, 2018) Orlando, FL — Health authorities have been providing warnings against the high prevalence of UTIs. It is imperative to have it diagnosed before it results in fatal consequences.

The Loyola University Chicago developed a new enhanced UTI test.

The findings of the study was presented at a meeting of the American Society for Microbiology in New Orleans.

Researchers discovered that an improved UTI test detected significantly more bacteria than the standard test.

It is worth mentioning the current test is called standard culture. On the other hand, this new test is enhanced quantitative urine culture (EQUC), which uses a volume of urine higher than what is required by standard culture.

This research involved 150 urogynecologic patients, and 50 percent of them reported UTI symptoms. The investigators found that, according to the EQUC test, 69 of the 75 women had one or more bacteria species.

The EQUC study is called “Detecting Clinically Relevant Microorganisms: We can do better.” The co-authors are Tanaka Dune, MD, Evann Hilt, MS, Cynthia Brincat, MD, PhD, Linda Brubaker, MD, and the late Paul Schreckenberger, PhD.

Travis Price, PhD, student in the lab of Alan Wolfe, PhD presented the study. He is a professor in the department of microbiology and immunology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

This research was further conducted by clinical microbiologists, a multidisciplinary team of basic scientists, and obstetrician gynecologists at Loyola University Chicago and Loyola Medicine.

While the high prevalence of antibiotic resistance continues to alarm experts, there is another issue that threatens health organizations.

Antibiotics are often used or prescribed by doctors to individuals with UTIs. While these medications are undeniably helpful in destroying E.coli, they also end up killing the beneficial bacteria inside the body.

This means that its use may deprive the body with the adequate levels of good bacteria, which have many roles to play for health.

Health authorities also warn against antibiotic resistance, which is growing at an alarming rate. This is why more and more researchers are investigating the use of safer alternatives like D-Mannose.

According to research, UTIs account for many doctor and emergency hospital care visits. This type of infection has been known to be more prevalent in women.

When it occurs, it produces symptoms like a burning sensation during urination, strong urge to urinate, pelvic pain, and urine that appears discolored or cloudy.

This UTI-fighting natural ingredient may be obtained through the use of Purest Vantage D-Mannose. This highly potent and pure formula continues to gain increasing attention and trust from consumers.
