(Newswire.net — July 27, 2020) Orlando, FL — Acne is undeniably widespread today and it doesn’t only happen to teens, but also adults. A new study has even shown that it still plagues many adult women.

The investigators from Italy looked into 500 women and found that some factors were linked with the increased risk of acne after the age of 25.

According to the investigators, these factors are high stress levels, family history of adult acne, and reduced intake of fruits and vegetables.

Dr. Debra Jaliman, says they see that people who have a diet of junk food tend to break out more.

Dr. Jaliman is an assistant professor of dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City.

The research study has implicated foods having a high glycemic index, which produce a spike in blood sugar levels. Some of these foods are chips, white bread and rice, crackers, and sugary baked goods.

According to Dr. Luigi Naldi, over 80 percent of teenagers have bouts of acne. The good news is that most see their skin clear up after age 20.

Dr. Luigi Naldi, who spearheaded the research, is from the Study Center of the Italian Group for Epidemiologic Research in Dermatology in Bergamo, Italy.

The findings were published in the December issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

More research studies are still being carried out to explore the potential causes of acne. However, there are also established risk factors consumers should be warned against.

It is worth noting that today, more and more researchers are recommending the use of some all-natural remedies to fight acne. Curcumin is one as it has been scientifically found to be helpful for skin care.

Scientists say curcumin has an ability to kill acne-causing bacteria. It is found particularly helpful in cases of inflammatory acne, which is caused by bacteria called Propionibacteria acnes (P. acnes).

Research has shown curcumin kills the bacteria better that an acne drug, which is linked with drug resistance.

Aside from its antibacterial abilities, curcumin has further been found to have strong ant-inflammatory agents. Experts say it may aid in decreasing inflammation of acne.

It is worth realizing that there are many benefits associated with the use of curcumin for skin health. Today, it is widely consumed via supplementation especially by individuals who strive to increase their protection against diseases.

A formula that is reputed to be superior over other brands is VitaBreeze Curcumin, which is highly potent and pure (amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Pepper-Extract/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
