Suncor, Encana, Cenovus Awarded Responsible Canadian Energy (RCE)

(Newswire.net — May 16, 2013) Calgary, AB — As supportive members of their community’s oil and gas companies contribute to a number of important projects that vary in scope. Each year companies are nominated for an award from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). This year they received a record 33 nominations. This truly shows that the spirit of giving back and helping the environment, communities and social projects is important to oil and gas producers.

CAPP presented recognition awards to five oil and natural gas companies during their 2013 Industry Awards ceremony held in March. In recognition of innovative environmental, safety and social projects, responsible resource development these five companies were outstanding.

At the Responsible Canadian Energy (RCE) – 2013 Awards were presented to:

Health and Safety Award – Chevron (NYSE:CVX) – Beaufort Sirluaq Seismic Program

Social Performance Award – Suncor (TSE:SU) (NYSE:SU) – David Thompson Corridor Visitor Services Program

Environmental Performance Award – Cenovus (TSE:CVE) (NYSE:CVE) – SkyStrat™ drilling rig

Chair’s Award – ARC Resources (TSE:ARX) – Dawson Gas Plant: Low Emissions Facility

President’s Award – EnCana (TSE:ECA) (NYSE:ECA) – Responsible Products Program, Horn River Basin Recycling, Race Against Hunger

Even though the awards are over these fine companies strive to do their part and continue helping by means of environmental and safety programs, monetary donations for community improvements and programs, helping out individuals in need, responsible development and more.
