(Newswire.net — June 5, 2014) Thomson, Ill. — June will be full of fun events at the Heirloom Market & Café in Thomson, Ill., with a concert by a ukulele trio starting the month and a classic car cruise-in and a country music concert capping it, as well as a weekly farmer’s market taking place every Saturday.
The market sells everything from homemade crafts, to unique kids’ toys, to grass-fed beef, and the old-town bistro-style restaurant features grilled Panini’s, soups, gourmet coffee, fresh-baked desserts and ice cream, along with indoor and outdoor seating.
Following is the June schedule:
— June 7: Heirloom Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with music by Aaron Fullan from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Ukulele Connection trio will play a free concert from 5 to 8 p.m.
— June 14: Heirloom Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with music (TBD).
— June 21: Heirloom Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with music by Sandra Senior (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.).
— June 26: Ladies Night of Summer Fun, 5 to 8 p.m., with musical guest Travis Hosette.
— June 28: Heirloom Farmer’s Market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Old Time Heirloom Hour” with country singer Brooke Byam at 10 a.m., followed by the “Taste of Heirloom” with beer, wine and food samples. A Classic Car Cruise-In also will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Old folk band Dirt Simple will perform a concert that night.
Byam, who will sing on June 28, was selected for American Idol and even once performed a song in a 20th Century Fox movie. Her 2013 song “Thank You For Leavin’” debuted at No. 14 on the Independent Music Network Country Chart.
The location of the farmer’s market is in front of the Heirloom Market & Café on Illinois Route 84. The farmer’s market will take place each Saturday through October.
