(Newswire.net — July 15, 2014) THOMSON, IL– The trio known as the Ukulele Connection will return to the Heirloom Market & Café July 19 from 5-8 p.m., bringing their unique style of music back to Thomson after playing in front of a packed house earlier this summer.

Ukulele Connection features Aaron Johnson (U-Bass), Jim Roeder (Banjo Ukulele) and Paul Engwall (Tenor Ukulele), and plays throughout the Midwest. They are members of the Quad Cities Ukulele Club and call Northwest Illinois their home.

The Ukulele Connection plays a blend of musical styles including popular, bluegrass and gospel songs. Bass, tenor, and banjo ukuleles along with a tuba, guitar, mandolin and harmonica provide the background for the three-part vocals. The group has been featured in Radish Magazine. They are from the towns of Morrison, Silvis and Lyndon.

That morning, the Heirloom Market also will host the Heirloom Farmers’ Market, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Central, offering fresh produce, homemade crafts, baked goods and heirloom started plants. It will be held on site every Saturday through October.

The Heirloom Market & Café sells everything from homemade crafts, to unique kids’ toys, to grass-fed beef, and the old-town bistro-style restaurant features grilled paninis, soups, gourmet coffee, fresh-baked desserts and ice cream, craft beer and local wine, along with indoor and outdoor seating.
