(Newswire.net — March 3, 2014) Braintree, MA —
Classroom violence is a recurring and all too frequent news story. Parents fear for their students. Students and teachers struggle for a safe learning environment.
School administration and guidance staff, law enforcement and security professionals, and municipal leaders are encouraged to attend a day-long training that addresses the causes, visible symptoms and proactive solutions. Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman, a former West Point psychology professor, Army Ranger and author of two books on the subject, will lead the seminar, “School Violence – The Bulletproof Mind”. Lt. Col. Grossman will explain the motivation behind the violence, tactics to identify potential offenders, and common sense precautions that schools and communities can take to defend against such violence in the future.
Colonel Grossman is the author of “Stop Teaching Our Kids to Kill: A Call to Action Against TV, Movie and Video Game Violence”. He is a dynamic speaker who has presented internationally and provides insight into some of the most disturbing issues our society faces today.
Lt. Col. Grossman will be available for questions following the seminar.
The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will be held at Casa Lucia, a comfortable and convenient function facility located at 61 Lucia Avenue, Revere, MA 02151.
The program is co-sponsored by the Revere Police Department and Protecting the Homeland Innovations, LLC, a Braintree, MA-based company that helps implement anti-terrorism programs for private and public education, airports, municipal and state police, state and federal agencies, transit authorities, amusement parks, corporate campuses, hospitals, hotels and more.
