(Newswire.net — July 31, 2013) Jackson, WY — World War Z, the movie, incites a crazed zombie run feeding frenzy that people are just dying for. Sports equipment now ranges from video game equipment, wardrobe malfunctions, footballs, and yes, even zombie-run equipment.
Infectious games include: Sims 3 with infected people attacking others, The Call of Duty which is all war includes infected people. There are also games for cell phones. And this is just the beginning. Some non-electronic games include baseball and football. Anyone can play, but can everyone survive the apocalypse?
The feeding begins: It is hard to say where the idea of zombies originated, but in many religions it is believed that the dead come back. Some of the dead can speak and some can not. Some have said that the Mayans were destroyed by infected drones. Zonbi, in Louisiana Creole or the Haitian Creole is said to be a person brought back from the dead against their will and without speech.
At these infected marathons people can test their speed, strength and endurance while running and climbing through miles of crazy infected-made and natural obstacles. This is all done while trying to avoid being bitten and chased by hungry, merciless, and tireless zombies.
Much time is put into these obstacle races to make them even more elaborate than the previous race. Hopefully, it won’t be the last for some runners. Waiting at the end of these infected races are usually lots of juicy blood, brain cravings, body parts and of course and an “end of the world apocalypse party” to die for. Victims celebrate winning survival techniques or imminent doomed transformation. There is usually a feeding frenzy with live bands, music, and of course beer. Many community fairs including the Alaska State Fair now include an “infected run” to add to the madness of the atmosphere.
Zombie-run apparel includes everything from t-shirts that say, I died, to swords, blood, a hydration pack for holy-water, to eye makeup. With World War Z at the top of box office hits survival gear is growing every day.
Paul Cherry with Vestpac Inc. who manufactures a hydration pack for infected and uninfected people said, “It’s a tough job keeping zombies and uninfected people hydrated, but it’s what I do. It is tough enough running a race and staying hydrated, but can you imagine running for your life?“
